About the company
With the aim to decarbonise  the chemicals industry, AromatEco produce chemicals directly from CO2. We engineer microorganisms to directly convert CO2 into high-value chemicals, replacing those currently obtained from fossil fuels or tropical agriculture. 

 

The role
Your main objective is to contribute towards our first prototype, by optimizing bioproduction within a bioreactor. You will be working in collaboration with the whole team and reporting to the CSO and management team.

 

As one of our first hires, there is a tremendous opportunity to grow with the company, with potential benefits including increased remuneration, options for equity and greater responsibilities, incl. Management.

 

In this role you will:

  • Set-up and manage bioreactors

  • Optimise and operate prokaryotic fermentation

  • Design and carry out experiments to further improve production

  • Stay up to date with literature

  • Innovate and work conscientiously

  • Report regularly to the rest of the team

  • Proactively stay informed and comply with health & safety regulations

 

Requirements

Essential skills:

  • Master’s degree in Biotechnology or similar fields or

  • Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry or similar subjects and at least one year’s relevant industrial experience

  • Practical experience with bioreactors or fermentation

  • Theoretical understanding of microbiology

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Planning, organisational, prioritising and decision-making skills

  • Ability to think outside the box and lack of hesitation for solving problems

  • Strong attention to detail ensuring that work is consistently to a high standard

 

Desirable skills:

  • PhD in Biotechnology or similar

  • Design of Experiment optimization or programming skills

  • Larger scale (>100L) bioreactor operation
